Where this started

RinkScore began as a single tournament site we built for the Goal Digger Dangle 2025. It was just for one of our own weekends — schedule, standings, scores, all in one place — and to our happy surprise, hockey families loved it. Coaches shared the link around the rink, parents kept refreshing between games, and grandparents back home finally had a way to follow along.

Yes, our boys play hockey, and our family lives and breathes the sport. After that first weekend, we realized we could turn this into something many more tournaments could use — without the cost or complexity that usually comes with a custom site.

Why we built it

RinkScore is, above all, an educational project. There are three reasons we keep at it:

1. So our boys can learn. We hope they’ll grow into being able to deploy a real tournament site — their own — from scratch. Building this together is how they pick up the skills along the way.
2. So we can give back. RinkScore is a not-for-profit operation. After our small operational costs (hosting, domain, tools), every dollar earned is donated back to the community — the boys’ school, local minor-hockey programs, and other community causes we believe in.
3. So smaller tournaments aren’t left behind. A clean tournament website usually costs hundreds of dollars from an agency — out of reach for most community tournaments and grassroots organizers. We wanted to make a professional, beautiful page accessible to any tournament, no matter how small the budget.

What it costs

Our pricing is intentionally simple and affordable:

• $30 per team. A 4-team tournament is $120 total; an 8-team tournament is $240.
• Optional add-on: custom domain. Run your tournament at your own URL (e.g. yourtourney.ca). You can check whether your next tournament’s URL is available — and what it costs — on Name.com. We’ll register and wire it up for you at cost.

Family discounts

We’re a Northwest Warriors (NWW) family. To support our hockey community:

• 20% off for any tournament hosted by an NWW team — we’re proud of our club and happy to help our own.
• 20% off for any tournament whose purpose is fundraising — if you’re skating for a cause, we want to make it easier.

One family, doing our best

RinkScore isn’t a company. It’s one family that loves hockey and wants to help other hockey families have a better tournament weekend. We’re small, and we’re learning as we go.

That means we might miss something. A bug might slip through, an email might take a day or two longer than we’d like, or a feature you wanted isn’t there yet. Please be patient with us — let us know and we’ll do our very best to make it right.

Our promise: every player, every parent, every grandparent who visits your tournament page should leave feeling that the game they love was treated with care. That’s what we’re trying to build, one tournament at a time.
